For more than a century, humanity believed wildfire was an enemy that could always be defeated.
Send more firefighters.
Drop more water.
Build bigger aircraft.
Buy more helicopters.
The fire would eventually lose.

- traffic conditions
- mobile phone locations (with appropriate legal safeguards)
- digital elevation models
- historical fire behavior
- vegetation moisture
- real-time wind forecasts
Within seconds, AI could estimate:
- where the fire is likely to spread
- which neighborhoods face immediate danger
- which roads may become impassable
- where emergency resources should be deployed
- which evacuation routes remain viable
Some elements of this technology already exist in research programs and operational agencies. The challenge is integrating them into fast, reliable public warning systems.

Tomorrow's should reroute around advancing flames.

Every Neighborhood Needs a Survival Map

- Which roads become bottlenecks?
- Which bridges could fail?
- Where are the designated shelters?
- Which open spaces may provide temporary refuge?
- Where are emergency water supplies?

These should not be mysteries discovered during an evacuation.
They should be common knowledge.

- how to prepare a "go bag"

No single measure is sufficient.
The strength lies in combining them into a system where each layer reinforces the others.
That is what resilience looks like.

"Do you believe?"
