Once upon a time, there was the Paris Agreement. It was full of hope, lofty promises, and carefully worded clauses that almost said something—but not quite. The world clapped, hugged, and went home in limousines fueled by oil. Fast forward a few years, and the oceans are vomiting plastic, the skies are coughing carbon, and humanity is locked in a toxic romance with petrochemical empires.
