China is no longer a lucrative buyer but a direct competitor, and energy costs are crippling industry.
Are you willing to tell Germans the truth?
That stagnation is not a passing phase but the result of deep structural failures?
That the only way forward is through radical reform—not half-hearted ‘Reförmchen’ designed to keep interest groups happy?
Bureaucracy: Will You Finally Cut the Red Tape?
German businesses suffocate under a mountain of regulations. Endless reporting requirements, Kafkaesque approval procedures, and a digital administration that still operates like it’s 1995.
Your party loves to talk about ‘Mittelstand-friendly’ policies, but will you finally deliver?
Or will the CDU, once again, bow to the civil service unions and let bureaucratic inertia win?
Would you have the guts to scrap counterproductive laws like the Lieferkettengesetz (supply chain act) that burdens companies with unrealistic compliance rules?
Will you end the insanity of Germany’s building and rental laws, which have helped create the worst housing crisis in decades?
Taxation: Can You Cut the State’s Greedy Hands Off?
Germany is one of the most overtaxed nations in the world. Businesses and citizens alike are bled dry, yet politicians pretend there’s no money.
Are you prepared to cut taxes and reduce government spending at the same time?
Or will you cling to the tired CDU habit of promising tax cuts while ballooning public debt?
You like to talk about fiscal discipline—but do you have the spine to tell voters that subsidies and handouts must be slashed?
Can you resist the temptation to play Santa Claus with taxpayer money, bailing out failing companies like Meyer-Werft while lecturing others on free markets?
Labour & Social Policy: How Will You Fix the Incentive Disaster?

Retirement & Aging: Will You Tell Germans to Work Longer?
Germany’s pension system is collapsing. The state is already pumping over 100 billion euros annually into subsidies just to keep it afloat.

Let’s be honest: the Energiewende has been a disaster. Energy prices have soared, industry is suffocating, and Germany is still reliant on coal and Russian gas alternatives.
The EU’s emissions trading system already regulates CO2. So why do we need additional layers of costly, bureaucratic climate policies?
Will you finally put an end to green overregulation and focus on market-driven solutions?
Will you support nuclear power?
Or will you, like the CDU under Merkel, capitulate to irrational fearmongering and leave Germany stuck with unreliable renewables and imported fossil fuels?
Europe: Will Germany Lead or Continue to Drift?
Germany is Europe’s largest economy, yet it acts like a bystander. While France aggressively pushes its interests, Berlin dithers.
Will you push for a real EU capital markets union to strengthen investment?
Will you champion free trade agreements, or will you allow German industry to drown in EU bureaucracy and protectionist nonsense?
And will you stop Berlin’s habit of gold-plating every EU directive, making Germany even less competitive than its neighbors?
Mr. Merz, Will You Actually Deliver?
Your party, the CDU, has spent years making big promises while achieving little.
Now, Germany is on the brink of long-term decline.
Are you going to be the leader who finally rips off the band-aid and implements the tough reforms needed to restore economic dynamism?
Or will you, like so many before you, take the easy road—appeasing unions, feeding special interests, and postponing the inevitable?
Germany has the talent, the capital, and the potential to thrive again. But it needs a leader who is willing to make tough decisions, not just another career politician looking for applause.
So, Mr. Merz, are you up for it?
Or will Germany continue to sleepwalk into irrelevance?
